In a brutal assessment of the British fighter's reactions to their rematch, Oleksandr Usyk calls Anthony Joshua a 'poor fool'.

Oleksandr Usyk has given a scathing assessment of Anthony Joshua’s behaviour following their rematch in Saudia Arabia last month.

Usyk dethroned Joshua in September 2021 and then beat him again in August to claim full ownership of the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.

Joshua reacted angrily to his latest loss, taking two of Usyk’s belts and throwing them over the ropes before engaging in angry exchanges with some of the Ukrainian’s team members.

The Englishman stormed out of the ring and started to head back to his dressing room, before changing his mind and returning to the ring.

He then took the microphone and gave a bizarre, yet passionate, speech.

Usyk initially claimed that he was not bothered by Joshua’s post-fight antics but warned his rival not to push his teammates too far.

“I feel nothing but respect to AJ. I saw him a bit emotional and like bullying some of my teammates,” he said.

“That would be a bare-knuckle fight that I don’t recommend him to do because most of them are horrible street fighters.”

More recently, Usyk was asked for his thoughts on Joshua’s post-fight meltdown during an interview on his USYK17 YouTube channel.

“You know, I thought, ‘What a poor fool’,” he replied.

“I thought, ‘Why should you be doing that?’ He reminded me of a little boy who wanted to play with the ball, but it was taken away from him.

“So, he decided to throw it over the neighbour’s fence. But the ball landed next to a fierce dog, so was it such a smart decision in the end?”

Despite losing two fights in a row, Joshua seems set to fight Fury next

After beating Joshua for a second time, an undisputed fight with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury seemed inevitable.

However, Usyk has ruled himself out for the rest of 2022 due to injury, prompting ‘The Gypsy King’ to offer Joshua the chance to fight for his world title on the back of consecutive defeats.

A gargantuan British blockbuster is edging closer to completion and contracts have been exchanged but are not yet signed according to Frank Warren who works with Fury.

The Hall of Fame boxing promoter insists that his fighter still plans to take on Usyk and has suggested they will square off for all the heavyweight belts in March 2023.
